Code of Conduct

All members and parents are required to familiarise themselves with and adhere to the Club’s Code of Conduct at all times.

Players are the heart of Ballito United FC and are expected to:

Always show respect to teammates, coaches, opponents, referees, and spectators.
Attend all training sessions and matches punctually and with the right attitude.
Inform the coach in advance if unable to attend a session or match.
Give 100% effort during training and games, regardless of score or opposition.
Demonstrate sportsmanship: win humbly, lose with dignity.
Listen attentively to coaching instructions and ask questions respectfully.
Refrain from any form of bullying, discrimination, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
Represent the club with pride both on and off the field.

Parents and spectators are essential supporters of the club’s mission. They are expected to:

Encourage and support all players, not just your own child. For example; applaud good play from both teams.
Refrain from coaching or instructing players from the side-lines, for example, don’t shout “Shoot!”, “Pass!”, or “Press!”
Do not walk up and down the touchline following your child.
Do not stand close to the coach / players area on the sideline. Give the coach space to coach unobstructed, and undistracted.
Stand 2 meters away from the side line (FIFA recommendation).
Never criticise, abuse, or undermine referees, players, or coaches publicly.
Respect match officials and accept their decisions.
Reinforce club values and positive behaviour at home. Don’t focus on the result or on the negatives but rather ask “Did you have fun?” and praise the good things. You can ask “What can you improve on?” thus letting the child self-assess.
Raise concerns through the appropriate club channels and not during matches. Wait 24 hours before submitting message to the club (not the coach).
Clean up all mess and remove all rubbish from fields (home and away) regardless of whose rubbish it is. This ensure good standing with the schools we lease grounds from, and also sets a good example for our children and other teams.

Coaches play a vital role in the development of players and the culture of the club. All coaches are expected to:

Put the welfare, development, and safety of players first.
Create a positive and inclusive environment for all players.
Abide by the club’s training philosophy and long-term player development goals.
Be role models of integrity, humility, and professionalism.
Communicate respectfully with players, parents, and officials.
Provide clear, constructive feedback to help players grow.
Avoid favoritism or any conduct that may undermine player confidence.
Address misconduct immediately and follow disciplinary procedures when necessary.

Wear – any sports attire/soccer kit, grass football boots or takkies.
